Non-working days in December and January

Due to the upcoming New Year’s holiday and the religious holiday of Christmas, the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare announced the non-working days for employees of the Roman Catholic and Orthodox faiths.

“Based on the Law on the Celebration of Religious Holidays, believers of the Roman Catholic faith will celebrate the religious holidays of Christmas on December 24, 25 and 26th”, the Ministry’s announcement states.

Based on the Law on State and Other Holidays, the New Year is celebrated on January 1, 2 and 3d.

“Based on the Law on the Celebration of Religious Holidays , believers of the Orthodox faith have the right to paid leave for the purpose of celebrating the religious holidays of Christmas Day and Christmas (two days) namely: Friday January 6 (Christmas Day), Saturday January 7 (the first day of Christmas) and Sunday January 8 (the second day of Christmas)”, added the Ministry.
