The Municipality of Herceg Novi has allocated €40,000 for the continued cleaning and washing of the Forte Mare fortress walls.

The next phase includes the restoration of the western, southern, and eastern sides of the fortress, which will continue to be carried out by “Outdoor Adventures” from Herceg Novi, following a public tender.

According to RTHN, the work involves removing vegetation, washing, and injecting the walls in accordance with a conservation project approved by the Cultural Heritage Protection Administration. This will fully restore a façade area of 2,546 square meters.

During the first phase, the northern side was cleaned, and the western section next to the ancient fortress was renovated. After four decades, Forte Mare is regaining its cultural heritage-worthy appearance.
