TO Tivat Participated in the New York Fair: Taking Advantage of “United” Flights to Dubrovnik
The fair was held on January 25 and 26, and as stated by TO Tivat, it was an excellent opportunity to present Montenegro as an ideal destination to potential tourists and partners from the USA.
The Tourist Organization (TO) of the Municipality of Tivat, together with the National Tourist Organization of Montenegro, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and the tourism industry, participated in the “Travel & Adventure Show” in New York.
The fair, held on January 25 and 26, was a great opportunity to showcase Montenegro as an ideal destination to potential tourists and partners from the USA, according to TO Tivat.
“Travel & Adventure Show” is one of the most important events in the tourism world, known for connecting over 2.1 million travel enthusiasts with more than 4,500 unique travel brands.
“We are pleased to have participated in such a prestigious tourism fair and to have the opportunity to present Tivat’s offer to the US market. This is the first time the Tourist Organization of Tivat has attended this fair, and the impressions are very positive. American tourists are excited to see Montenegro among the 250 destinations represented. This is a big step forward for Tivat, and we believe we have left a great impression,” said Nina Lakičević, director of TO Tivat.
At the NTO booth, in addition to the Tourist Organization of Tivat, the Budva Riviera Hotel Group, local tourist organizations from Budva, Kotor, Herceg Novi, Gusinje, Rožaje, and Montenegro Stars Hotels were also represented.
In recent years, Tivat has seen an increasing number of tourists from the USA, who primarily stay in luxury accommodations within the Porto Montenegro and Luštica Bay resorts.
However, during the summer, there is also a noticeable increase in visitors from the USA who choose more affordable accommodation options and enjoy everything that Tivat and Boka Bay have to offer. This trend is largely due to the fact that Dubrovnik Airport, located nearby, is directly connected to New York during the summer IATA season, via Newark Airport in New Jersey, which serves as a major hub for United Airlines.
Last year, United Airlines operated four weekly flights on this route, carrying nearly 30,000 passengers with a high load factor of 89.8%. Due to strong demand, United has announced that during most of the upcoming summer season, there will be daily flights from Newark to Dubrovnik.
